2022 Huawei Partner & Developer Conference 2024 – F5G Simplified All-Optical Network: Empowering Enterprises with Innovation

From 2022 to 6.16, Huawei held the "Huawei Partner and Developer Conference 2022" through a hybrid online and offline approach. During this event, Huawei engaged in in-depth discussions with partners and developers on hot topics of interest, including industry verticals, commercial markets, Huawei Cloud, and the development of computing industries.

The meeting highlighted the "F5G Simplified All-Optical Network." With F5G all-optical networks booming, fiber now extends from rooms to desks to machines. As a fifth-generation network communication technology using fiber as the medium, building new infrastructure with F5G has become an industry trend. Huawei, a global leader in optical networking alongside its ecosystem partners, enables ubiquitous optical connectivity. Liu Xiheng, Vice President of Huawei's Optical Product Line, shared Huawei's solutions for the industry.
What changes are occurring in industry digitization?
1 Production visualization requires bandwidth to increase by tens of times.
2 Remote credit control and office connectivity are increasingly becoming essential for enterprise production, demanding high levels of reliability and security.
3 Centralize data by consolidating information scattered across various locations into a single data center.
As technology advances, optical connectivity has achieved a 10x increase in bandwidth capacity and reduced single-link latency by over 10x through technical optimization. To address this, Huawei proposes 4 solution innovations:
1 Reliable optical network accelerates secure production upgrades. Leverage OSU over PON to deploy pipelines deeper, enhancing distribution network security.
2 Agile optical network to boost operational efficiency. Leveraging OTN gray light and OSU color light technologies, it delivers single-fiber bandwidth from 100G to 300G, enabling flexible, on-demand bandwidth provisioning instead of fixed allocations. Latency is under 1 milliseconds.
3: Minimalist optical network acceleration improves construction efficiency. From cable-based P2P networking to fiber-based P2MP, active equipment to passive splitters (power-saving), and unprotected to Type-C network protection.
4 Sensing-optical network acceleration upgrades inspection efficiency. Achieves light-vision linkage with a false-positive rate of less than one.
Following Huawei, partners shared specific application scenarios for F5G. Huawei's F5G Simplified All-Optical Network will collaborate with industry partners to deliver ubiquitous optical connectivity across all sectors, driving innovation and co-evolving with the industry.
